Slide your cut of heatshrink tubing over the wires (optimum size is about a half of an inch)

Slide your nylon cable sleeving over the wires and halfway into the heatshrink tubing.

Use your lighter to shrink the tubing for a nice hold. Don't play with the lighter too long because you risk damaging your wires.

Do the same for the other end
