The Continuum Preview Read More...

The Continuum is a turn based strategy game with in-depth RPG character development, multiplayer combat (planned) and fully developed and evolving realities. Yes, I said realities. I knew the genre of TCG, whether truly played with cards or not, having frequented GenCon several times. My expectations were neither high nor low as I purposely limited my exposure to the existing information about the game. I prefer to form my own opinions rather than bias my view with others' preconceived notions.

It seems like the more technologically advanced and the more connected we become, the bigger the burden of storage becomes too. I, for one, am a victim of the corporate policies and tightening budgets. My company issued laptop suffers from irritable storage syndrome! With the lackluster storage capacity and the incredible need for stored software in a position such as mine, there is a great need for portable storage solutions. Even though storage comes in varying flavors, I simply look for the most bang for my buck solutions, and Cooler Master claims that they can provide the ammunition. Enter the XCraft 250 2.5" external HDD enclosure.

Thermaltake Big Water 735 Read More...

There are times in a computer's life when air cooling will no longer fit the bill. Unfortunately, most main stream computer users are sometimes afraid to experiment. This should no longer be the case because water and electronics were meant for each other. If you have been following computing, things have been changing, duh. As things get faster, they require greater cooling. As things got faster, heat sinks got bigger and bigger, making more noise than my grandmother in the bathroom. For this reason, some of us have ventured into mixing water and electricity to bring the noise down and the speeds up. Thermaltake is not new when it comes to cooling, and now they are trying to do what they do best, bringing what the enthusiasts have been doing for years to everyone else. Enter the Big Water 735 complete water cooling solution.

Today we are going to look at CoolIT’s latest water-cooled processor heatsink, the PURE. CoolIT calls their cooling systems “Fluid Heat Exchangers” and have been building their FHEs for a couple of years now."

"Back in January this year (2008), John went to the consumer electronics show (CES) in Las Vegas. He met up with Griffin who make a set of digital RF speakers that are completely wireless. They charge up on an iPod docking station but can then be placed anywhere within fifty meters of the docking station. The speakers in this review aren't that wireless - they still require a power cord to mains power. Where as the Griffin speakers use bluetooth technology as part of their functionality of being portable, the AV Labs AVL337s are actually quite heavy and bluetooth is a feature for connectivity and not mobility."

"For most computer savvy users, transferring data between two computers is relatively easy. If you have a network set up, you can share data between two computers. Alternatively, you can simply use a flash drive... but that might not be very efficient if you are transferring a large amount of data. But, for those users who aren't as "skilled" with computers, this can present quite a problem. I have seen countless people burn CD after CD of data to transfer to their laptop, which of course is time-consuming and wasteful."

"Ever wonder how Intel's retail heatsinks stack up against the best aftermarket CPU coolers out there? In this review Frostytech will be comparing the Intel FCLGA4-S reference heatsink, which is boxed with retail 45nm Intel Core 2 Extreme QX6850 processors (and others), against one hundred Intel socket 775 heatsinks from every imaginable manufacturer. "Once you buy your first digital camera, photos seem to grow
exponentially. We move the pictures from our camera to our computer, and
over time find we have a semi-organized mess of pictures. It can be
difficult to find the photos we want to view, print or email. For this
reason, Windows Vista comes preinstalled with a built in photo gallery
that showcases your photos in an easy-to-use way. The software also
provides useful editing tools to manage your photos. You can view, rate,
and tag photos and then sort the photos by these criteria. You can also
use the search feature to find the exact photo you want. This article
explores the options available to you through Photo Gallery."

"The drawbacks to the Hybrid Power though outweigh the positives in
this current implementation. First, only the 9800 GTX and the 9800 GX2
graphics cards are supported with the 780a SLI chipset - that leaves a whole
host of NVIDIA users with 9600 GTs, 8800 GTS and GT cards that probably
think they have the right to Hybrid Power technology since their cores are
based on the same that rests under the hoods of the 9800 GTX and GX2. Also,
the REAL KILLER here is that NVIDIA is promoting the nForce 780a SLI chipset
as an enthusiast platform, and pushing Hybrid Power with these high end
cards, yet the fact that the motherboard GPU can only output at 1920x1200
resolutions is not-so-cleverly hidden."
