Introduction:
Logitech's newest Optical
Engine comes out with a new look and added functionality. Whether your
assembling a black or silver (aluminum) computer system, this mouse will
compliment it perfectly.
Features:
The MX300 follows
Logitech's previous mice design with some improvements. At the top, behind
the two main buttons there is a small clear domed button called the
Quick-switch Program Selector. This button allows you to switch between
programs almost exactly like alt-tab does. Personally I find this button
to be a bit out of the way. You have to reach far back with your index
finger to press it. Also it has such a light click, at first you wonder
if you pressed it. Next you find the black section around the Logitech
logo on top of the mouse. This has a smooth rubberized feel, just enough
that your hand can easily grip the mouse during movements. They did a very
good job on incorporating the silver accents with the shape of the mouse.
One thing I did notice while using the mouse, the red optical light does
not brighten when you move the mouse like I've seen on past Logitech mice.
Installation:
You can choose the usb
connection or it includes a ps/2 adapter. Logitech's Mouseware is just a
few clicks and a reboot, and then you are ready to go.
Specifications:
- Fits left or right hands
- Image Processing: 4.7 mega pixels/sec
- Resolution: 800 dpi
- Acceleration: 10g
- Speed: 40 inches/sec
- Five-year warranty

Conclusion:
I picked this mouse up for $35.00. The new optical engine tracks just
like the dual laser mouse they offer. Moving the mouse as fast as I
could, it still kept with me on the screen. Even though it has a great
color scheme and the new engine, it doesn't feel comfortable using the
Quick-switch button. I would have to recommend the Logitech Mouseman
Dual Optical for $34; it has all the same features but moves the top
button down to your thumb. If you're left handed, keep looking.
