One of the first questions I asked was why the browser/flash format as opposed to a client/server arrangement? The response was well reasoned and thorough.
- The first reason was the easy expandability and ease of change introduction. Changes can be made directly to the game and published much quicker on the web than they can for the typical PC game which would require a patch to be released and each player would have to download and install...well, you get the idea.
- The second reason was accessibility. Typically, you install a game on your PC and you only have that game available on your PC in your home or maybe a LAN party. By utilizing the web, you can play your game anywhere you can find internet access and a PC. One thing that guarantees is that more people will be willing to invest time and energy in learning a game they can play from Istanbul to Sydney.
- The final reason, which you should be able to deduce, is system requirements are nowhere near as stringent as traditional games. Seriously, you need a behemoth of a rig to play some of the newest games today. Not so with this one, If you can get to the net and watch the videos on www.collegehumor.com, you are pretty much set.
I admit when I first found out it was flash, I thought of the tiny screen and hokey graphics so abundant on the web. I was very pleasantly surprised with the game in this respect. It was anything but hokey. One small slightly negative comment here, sorry Tim. There was a noticeable delay when the game was accessing the server. However, this only happens between games. I did not notice it during game-play.

Now, obviously, even though the game is played through the browser it's not free. There will be a subscription service you can sign up for to play the game and receive items on a regular basis. I don't have much more info than that as the details are not set in stone at this time, but I don't think you are likely to see any revolutionary pricing structure. It should be competitive with the other subscription services available now. However, you are not required to subscribe to the service as you can purchase a character pack, just like any other TCG and single characters as well.
