The Continuum is a turn based strategy game with in-depth RPG character development, multiplayer combat (planned) and fully developed and evolving realities. Yes, I said realities. There are four distinct realities in the game, as you can see by the information lifted from the official website, www.thecontinuum.com :

[The Shapeshifter Reality] A world of shapeshifters, where all humans go through the Change to morph into a vast array of animals, including wolves, hawks, bears, and great cats

[The Vampire Reality] A world overrun by vampires, where the last remaining humans and elves have developed the power to bring forth Light to destroy their blood-thirsty oppressors

[The Manifested Reality] A world where all people manifest a distinct power (fire, ice, etc..) at some point in their lives. The later in life the power is manifested, the greater the power.

[The Legion Reality] A world based on a dominant society conquering most of the known world and their enslaved species that are thrust into gladiatorial combat as entertainment.

Each of the realities stories are detailed in the comics. The first two editions are available on the website. The third was introduced recently, of which I have the SIGNED copy, and there is a fourth due soon. The comics and game somewhat mirror each other as the game setup is documented in the comics. It's the back-story of the game and provides entertainment in and of itself. You can read more and download copies of the first two comics from the website. Don't forget to register and be sure to visit the forums. If you want to see how anticipated the game really is, the forums will give you an indication. Even though the Beta hasn't been released yet, there are 33 posts under "Strategy". That's not all, there are over 200 posts in the suggestions area. And the game is not even out yet. That's some pretty good buzz.

All in all, it was a very interesting 60 minutes and well worth the time. The game combines many elements of both TCG, RPG and strategy games and does it all well. I strongly suggest you take the time to peruse the site, www.thecontinuum.com and find out for yourself what the buzz is all about. Oh, and download some icons, wallpaper and other cool stuff while you are at it.
